A scam is an attempt to gain a person’s trust to obtain personal information in order to usurp their identity and obtain money.
There are different types of scams

The different types of scam:

– phishing
– ransom


2. What is phishing ?



The main purpose of phishing is to obtain your personal information in order to impersonate you.
There are different phishing methods.
 

3. What is spam ?



Spam is a word generally used to name unwanted emails.
Spam per se is not very dangerous although it mainly has 2 functions:
– the scam
– publicity
 

4. What is Cyberbullying ?



Cuberbullying is a word generally used to describe a form of harassment that you may encounter mainly in various social networks such as:
– Facebook.
– Twitter.
– Youtube.

Cyberbullying can take various forms such as:

– Unwanted videos published publicly by the author with the aim of harming the person.
– Publications on social networks to harm the person, etc.
 


5. What is Hacking ?



The purpose of hacking is to take control of your computer or your email, social network or other account in order to steal personal information from you.
The best way to avoid being hacked is to be well informed and always remain vigilant, having a good firewall will also be a valuable help. (see recommended software).
 

5. What is a computer virus ?



A computer virus is a piece of stand-alone code created to spread on computers by placing itself in files.
This virus will disrupt the functioning of the infected computer and may even spread from it.
There are different types of computer viruses (boot viruses, classic viruses, etc.)
The best way to prevent you from catching a computer virus is to always be vigilant and have a good antivirus software. (see recommended software).
To avoid catching a computer virus, it is recommended not to download any file anywhere, even if it may seem tempting to you.
 

6. What is computer malware ?



Malware is a word used to describe malicious or harmful software.
Malware is not strictly speaking a virus.
Malware is developed to harm the computer system.
The best way to avoid computer malware is to have an antivirus and anti-malware software as well as an advertising blocker (see recommended softwares).
It is also recommended not to download any file anywhere or click on any link even if it may seem tempting to you.
